Determining if Someone Unfriended You
Facebook does not directly notify you if someone unfriends you. You'll need to manually check using these methods:
Method 1: Review Your Friend List
- Go to your Facebook profile page.
- Access your "Friends" list.
- Search for the individual's name within your list.
- If their name is absent, they are no longer your friend. This could be due to them unfriending you or deactivating their account.
Method 2: Visit Their Profile Page
- Use the Facebook search bar to look for the person's profile.
- If you find their profile: Check for an "Add Friend" button. Its presence indicates you are not currently friends. If there's no "Add Friend" button, and you have limited visibility of their profile, this could also mean they unfriended you and have strict privacy settings.
- If you cannot find their profile via search: This typically means the person has either deactivated their account or has blocked you. Being blocked is different from being unfriended; you won't be able to see their profile or interact with them at all if blocked.
Method 3: Check Through a Mutual Friend
- Navigate to the profile of a known mutual friend.
- View the mutual friend's friend list (if their privacy settings permit).
- Search for the person in question on that list.
- If they are listed as a friend of the mutual acquaintance but not on your own friend list (and their profile shows an "Add Friend" button if you visit it), it's a strong indicator they have unfriended you.
These methods help ascertain your friendship status without direct notification from Facebook.
